Skull Monument – Miniature Modelling
At the beginning of last week I started putting together some miniature modelling terrain props for my upcoming pulp Savage Worlds scenario for Seven Hills. Well, now it’s time to bore you with some more “work in progress” pictures. As an added bonus, each picture includes, undercoated, 25mm pulp minis for scale. I’ll be painting them next week hopefully.
First up is the partially-submerged submarine. I’m not entirely happy with it; it’s too blocky and dull but it will have to do.
I am much happier with the Skull Monument and ruined walls however. The ruined walls are just polystyrene that’s been painted and dry-brushed whereas, following the sage advice of Baz Stevens, the Skull Monument is polystyrene pieces stuck together with standard craft glue (and pinned with cocktail sticks while the glue hardened) and then covered in some polyfilla I had spare in the shed. A coat of paint and, again, some drybrushing and it’s looking really good. The addition of the aquatic skull ornament (which isn’t glued in place) from my local branch of The Range for £2 sets it off perfectly.
All I need to do to finish it off is attach a base (mainly for the walls but I’ll add something to the monument itself as well) and get all artistic with flock and lichen ;)
